I am haunted by this image since our return from Haiti. The small boy is reaching under the solid iron gate of the Good Shepherd School as it closed as soon as our truck gained entry. This small child isn't enrolled at Good Shepherd. Shouldn't he and his friends have the same privileges as those who are currently in school?

ReplyDeleteTo Rebecca and Bob, I am so glad to know that you both "get it." As you are acutely aware, the emotions erupting from an experience like Haiti (or Africa for Rebecca) are powerful and yet, unsettling.
